Ending an event

An event ends one of two ways: on its own, or because you ended it.

On its own

After the end time you set, the event stays reachable for the grace period in the Settings tab, 24 hours by default. Then it closes by itself. This is the normal path, and it is the one to prefer: it gives guests who are still uploading time to finish.

Ending it yourself

End event on the Overview tab, or Cancel (end) event in Settings. It stops all shooting immediately and cannot be undone.

Reach for it when the event genuinely finished early, or when something is happening you would rather nobody photographed. If you only want a quiet ten minutes, pause instead: it holds new shots, it is reversible, and every guest camera reopens by itself when you resume.

What happens to the photos

Nothing. Delivered photos stay in your Drive, exactly where they were. Ending an event closes the camera, it does not clean up after itself. The shared gallery stays viewable for another 30 days so guests can keep browsing and downloading, and then it is gone; your Drive copy is permanent.

Guests who already joined keep access to the gallery, so people can still look at what everyone shot. Nobody new can join.

The recap

Once the event is over you get a recap: how many guests came, how many photos landed, how the roll was used. Copy recap puts it on your clipboard in a form you can paste into a message, which is the easiest way to send the couple or the client a summary the next morning.

The feedback request

A few days later we email you a short form: what worked, and what slowed you

down. The link in it expires, so it is worth answering while the event is fresh

rather than filing it. It goes to the people building this, not to a support

queue.

Deleting it afterwards

An ended event can be removed from your list entirely, with the bin on its card in your events list. The photos stay in your Drive; it is the event that goes, along with the join link and the shared gallery. This is the second of the two steps: a live event has to be ended before it can be deleted.

Getting the photos out

They are already out. Everything is in the Drive folder named after your event, in your own account, and it stays there whether or not you ever open Papped again. See your Drive.
